Has Goodell's repeated fining of Pittsburg Steelers Linebacker James Harrison become a nuisance or asset to the league?

To the average fan it may seem like Goodell is saving the NFL's premier players, but to those who have or still do play the game, it just seems like he is ruining the league. To ask a football player to just "take it easy" when he is about to make a tackle, is like asking a lion to take it easy when he is about to hunt down a gazelle. James Harrison is just simply doing his job, he is applying pressure to the opposing quarter back, which every defensive player knows, has a huge affect on the opposing offense. When you apply constant pressure on the quarterback, as James Harrison does, it wears the offense down. James Harrison is the type of Football player that every defensive coordinator dreams about. If Roger Goodell continues with his constant revisions of the NFL rule book, he will undoubtedly ruin the league. He is running the NFL as if it were only a business and not a professional football league. He must keep the heart and soul of this sport in tact, and by taking away the hard hits that the NFL is known for, he will surely turn it into a soft league.

  1. Great post! At this rate, sooner or later the NFL will be a flag football league and the QB's are going to be wearing red practice jerseys
