Sticking with the local talent theme that I've been on for the last few posts, lets get back to some local talent that will be entering the 2012 NFL draft. Local future NFL superstar Tyrone Crawford is gearing up for the upcoming NFL draft. TYrone is another great talent coming out of Winsor, he played for Catholic Central secondary in windsor, went on to play and become a star for Boise State University. He is a 6'5, 275lbs defensive end and folks lets get something straight, this kid is a stud. He rushes the passer with the best of em, and he is a solid run stopper. Everyone from Windsor is excited about Tyrone's future, he is projected to be pick up in the third round of the draft. Stay tuned with my blog and I will surely kep you posted on our local football talents, as well as keeping all of you fans updated on all the biggest news happening in the world of football.
Just in, we have some ground breaking news about a great local talent. Just a few hours ago, local NFL star and veteran OJ Atogwe of the Washington Redskins has just bean released and is now officially on the market and up for grabs to the first team that wants to pick this man up. He still has 4 years remaining on his contract, along with a total of around 20 million guaranteed dollars. OJ is in sort of a Payton Manning situation, he had some injuries this past season, and is now in a situation where teams are going to have to gamble and roll the dice. His contract is one that gurantees him all 20 million dollars that are left over in his current deal. Stay tuned folks, I will surely keep you posted on this issue.
Hello to all my football fans, with the CFL draft steadily approaching we are going to switch gears to a little bit of Canadian football action. with three local guys from the University of Windsor football program getting ready to take the next step in their football careers, we want to put the spotlight on them for a moment. Seamus Postuma is a 6'4, 300lbs defensive tackle who is originally from thunder bay, and this man is an absolutely beast in the middle. He has the ability to stop the run and rush the passer with a great deal of intensity, play-in and play-out. Moving on we have a 6'5 195lbs receiver named Jordan Berscasin, this fella can pretty much catch the ball anywhere on the field. He has a knack for the big play, and lead the CIS in touchdowns this past season. Finally we have Shea Pierre, a 5'11, 200lbs defensive back hailing out of Toronto. This man can cover anything, he tackles well and has a amounted a great deal of interceptions over his four year career at U of W. This years draft is panning out to be a great draft for our home town guys, so stay tuned and I will be sure to keep all you bloggers posted.

Hello to all of my football junkies out there, this is the 'Hitman" coming to you live from reading week. With the NFL combine and draft around the corner, were going to take a look at some of the top prospects coming into this years draft. The man who seems to be on everyone's radar, as the potential number one pic in this years draft, is a Quarterback named Andrew Luck from the University of Stanford. He is predicted to go to the Indianapolis Colts as the number one pic. My prediction for the number two pick, is Robert Griffin III. Robert is a Quarterback out of Baylor University, and with the presence of Andrew Luck in the draft it makes him a very exciting possibility for any team to pick-up. For my number three prediction in this years draft, im going to choose Justin Blackmon, a wide receiver from Oklahoma State University. Mr. Blackmon is the most dominant receiver in this years draft class, he has excellent speed, hands, and just has a knack for making the "big play" on the "big stage." so what i want to know is, what do all of you readers think? Who will be this years Top 3 picks in the 2012 NFL Draft? Holler at your boy!!!

For today's post were going to switch gears, this is due to the fact that the single most Important sports event in North America has just happened, and that event is the 46th Super Bowl. After all is said and done, and the smoke has cleared, the New York "football" Giants were victorious. Leading up to the game, so much controversy was created by the media, fans, analysts, and football fanatics alike. So many football fans were convinced that Tom Brady and his high powered offense were unstoppable at this point in the post-season, especially after amounting 10 wins in a row. On the other hand, many as well as myself  were convinced that the relentless pass rush of the Giants was just too much for Tom Brady and the offensive line of the Patriots to handle. This is the point at which most fans become confused; a high powered offense is just simply not enough to win a Superbowl. I can see how one who is not the most experienced football fan could  confuse themselves with such a dilemma. Tom Brady can have all of the passing records he wants, but if he does not have a sufficient amount of time to throw the ball, all of those records really don't mean much. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Tom Brady and Patriots fan, and would have loved to see the Patriots get another Superbowl win to solidify their dynasty, but the fact of the matter is that Defense does win games! What I want to know is, what does the public think about this? Does offense win games or is it all about the Defense??? Holler at your boy "Hitman!"
